		<description>The Harp: Psalms
By Yitzchak Nachum
large product photo

Written in this picture are the first 30 chapters of the Psalms of David. The first chapter of Psalms begins at the upper right hand corner. The text then continues line by line. The 23rd Psalm of David begins with the darkened word at the bottom of the 2nd string and continues along the third string.

Remarks from the Artist:
King David wrote the book of Psalms and he played the harp. Today, Psalms is incorporated in many prayers. Psalms is an outpouring of David&#039;s love and belief in G-d in recognition of G-d&#039;s personal and Divine Providence. Psalms are traditionally recited during moments of great joy, like holidays, as well as moments of impending tradegy, or praying for one&#039;s good health. Psalms are often recited at the Western Wall. Just as understanding Kohelet (Ecclesiastes) is a challenge to the intellect, Psalms is at outpouring feelings - one cerebral, the other from the heart.
